Bio

Dr Linda Greenwall a 3rd generation dentist, born in Cape Town, South Africa. Graduating from Witts Dental School in 1984, moving to the UK in 1985 to continue widening her field of dentistry.

After completing her master's research into tooth whitening and discovering a passion for minimally invasive dentistry, she wrote 4 textbooks on the subject, her first book has been translated into 5 different languages. Her award winning first book is planning its third edition. Linda has written many editorials and research studies on whitening, restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

In 1989 she started her lecturing career and has been all over the world presenting her knowledge and scientific research on tooth whitening and minimally invasive dentistry.

In 2011 Linda decided she wanted to give back to dentistry and the community by establishing the Dental Wellness Trust, a non-profit Charity, focussed on raising dental awareness, improving oral health and dental wellness in less fortunate children and communities. This has led to research studies and presentations at various IADR around the world.

In 2017 Linda was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for my services to Dentistry. This was present by Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE and attended the Queens Garden party in June 2018 to celebrate this accolade.

In 2020 Linda worked with a group of female dentists whom wanted to improve the work balance for female dentists. We set up an organisation called Women Dentists Network, to support female dentists.

The British Dental Association awarded Linda the John Tomes award in 2023. This award honours members of the dental profession and of scientific eminence, or persons distinguished in medical or allied services, for their outstanding service to the dental profession or the Association. The award ceremony was hosted at the BDA in May 2024

Linda continues to run a multi-disciplinary, 6 surgery Private Specialist Dental Practice in London 5 days a week while continuing to lecture both in the UK and Internationally, undertaking research studies, writing books, dental articles and editing journals. I have four (now) adult sons and 2 grandchildren, with one more on the way.

In 2025 Linda was awarded an MBE for her charity work in community dentistry. The ceremony was held a Buckingham palace in December, and was presented by HRH Princess Anne.
